Cooperation with ERKO Textilmaschinen GmbH
A
central element in FEHRER business strategy is comprised of
co-operation with other leading companies in the
textile machinery industry. This is exemplified
by the recent commencement of intensive teamwork
between ERKO and FEHRER in the area of complete
production lines for high-end, non-woven products.

Patterns
for the future
The “SUPERLOOPER” really lives up to the superlative
contained in its name with a range of exciting possibilities
for structured textiles that are brimming with market
potential.

The
DREF 3000 makes its debut
|
|
|
Apart
from a showcase for the DREF 2000, the ITMA in Birmingham provides
the venue for the public launch of the latest FEHRER friction spinning
machine, the DREF 3000. |
A
star is born
An interview with company president Monika Fehrer about the
latest addition to Fehrer´s technology ensemble.
|
|
 |
The
FEHRER "SUPERLOOPER" has provided a whole new range of
random velours for the automotive trim, hometex and outdoor sports
surface sectors. What's more, the machine has recently been further
upgraded with special FEHRER "pitch pattern" know-how.
|
papermaker
felt production lines, FEHRER is able to quote
for lines incorporating fibre preparation,
carding, cross-folding, needling and thermosetting.
Optimum technical solutions are realised with
the cooperation of experts from all partners. |
 |
Webs
with an exciting difference!
The latest FEHRER aerodynamic web forming line,
comprised of a vibratory chute feed, weighing
device, V 21/R pre-web former, K 12 random card
and "HIGH-LOFT" device is the most flexible
currently available on the world market. A fact underlined by recent
product developments. |
 |
Looking
to clean up in make-up pad market? |
|
The FEHRER V21/R-K 12 "HIGH
LOFT" production line meets all the requirements for producing
make-up pads. Indeed, following recent modifications to the V21/R
pre-web former, tests have demonstrated that bleached cotton with
a 50% waste content and a web weight of 260 g/m²
can be successfully produced at speeds of 30 m/min. This corresponds
with a production performance of 468 kg/h for every working width
metre. |
H1
TECHNOLOGY - a new approach to needling
The principle of H1 technology, a Dr. Ernst Fehrer
patented invention, is the idea that superior
web properties can be obtained by oblique angled
needle penetration. Such penetration is achieved by means
of an asymmetrically curved needling zone and
straight needle movement. |
 |
MMD
(Multi-Motion-Drive)
One of FEHRER's most exciting developments is the
"Multi-Motion Drive" (MMD) system, which opens
up new perspectives for the papermaker felt industry. |
 |
There's
no business like shoe business! |
 |
For the wealthier sections
of the population of our planet, shoes are an to be item purchased,
worn for a certain time and then discarded. They have long been
a symbol of status, now they are an item of fashion and part of
the leisure culture. However, this fully ignores the complexity
of a product that has rapidly evolved from the domain of the craftsman
to the high-tech production line. |
The"DOUBLE-SUPERLOOPER"
multi-layered benefits
The intensive co-operation between FEHRER and
the Linz fibre producer ASOTA, involving the manufacture
of multi-layer
velour products on the NL 21/SRV-D
"DOUBLE SUPERLOOPER", has once again
produced
some highly interesting solutions. |

Filters with friction spinning flair ! |
FEHRER DREF 2 friction
spinning is nothing if not versatile. It can be used for everything
from asbestos substitutes and secondary carpet backing
yarns, to technical products such
as cartridges for liquid filtration. |
DREF
set the pace in exploiting waste !
At present, 8,481 DREF 2 spinning heads manufacture
approximately 318,000 metric tons
of yarn annually in the Nm 0,5 - Nm 6 (2000 - 167 tex)
yarn count range. 230 of these
machines, with yearly yarn production of 80,100 metric
tons, are employed in the cleaning
cloth and mop sector. |
DREF
2 is putting PP-yarn secondary carpet yarn backing out in front. |
 |
For over 20 years, DREF 2 yarns
on the basis of PP fibres and a PP tape core have provided an alternative
to jute backing. Due to the special characteristics of PP, such
as its break strength, non-hygroscopic nature, resistance to bacteria
and insects, electrical insulation and partial flame resistance,
etc., this fibre material is enjoying steadily growing popularity
in the carpet sector. |
