Dr. Ernst Fehrer founds the company in order to be able to exploit his
         numerous patents.
1965: Introduction of the NL 6, which can be described as the first of the
         modern generation of needle punching machines.
1967: Raising of machine speeds to 1000 strokes per minute in the form of the
         NL12 double board needle punching machine.
1968: Market launch of the K12 random carding machine.
         The first Fehrer papermaker felt needle punching machine comes onto
         the market.
1976: Market introduction of the DREF 2 friction spinning machine.
1979: Market launch of the DREF 3 system.
1991: Fehrer introduces the first needle punching machine with 3000 strokes
         per minute.
1992: Market launch of the K12 "HIGH-LOFT" System.
1996: Market launch of the “H1” technology.
1999: Market launch of the DREF 2000 Friction Spinning Machine and of the
         MMD (“Multi-Motion Drive”) for elliptical needling.
2000: Sale of the Prototype "Yarn Puncher" machine for mechanical yarn finishing.

2002:
Market launch of the DREF 3000 and of the “jumbo” version “Yarn Puncher”.
2003: Market introduction of the "Carpet Star" structuring needle punching machine.
2005: Takeover of the Fehrer company by the Swiss-based Saurer Group.
         Integration of nonwoven technology into Neumag/Saurer and of DREF
         technology into Schlafhorst/Saurer.
